If it's taking a long time to upload your music library
If most of your music was imported from sources other than Apple Music, or you have a large music library, it might take more time for your music library to upload.
Make sure that your computer is authorized so any music that you previously purchased from the iTunes Store can be uploaded. Then follow these steps:
- Connect your Mac or PC to the Internet.
- On your Mac, open the Music app. On your PC, open iTunes for Windows.
- Make sure that Sync Library is turned on.
- Keep the Music app or iTunes for Windows open until your music library is finished uploading.
If a song can't be uploaded with Apple Music or iTunes Match
If you see next to a song, then that song might be ineligible for upload. Learn why.
If a song isn't available in Apple Music
Some songs or albums might be grayed out because they're not currently available in Apple Music. Here are some reasons why:
- Artists and content providers might release some songs from an album in advance, but not all of them. If you add the entire album to your library, the songs will become available as they're released.
- Artists and content providers might change or remove music from the Apple Music catalog. Search Apple Music to see if that song is available under a different name or file. If it is, add the song to your library so it's no longer grayed out.
- The song might not be available in your country or region and will appear in gray text when you search for it in Apple Music.
- If an explicit song is grayed out, you might have restrictions turned on for your device. You can use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or Screen Time on your Mac to turn off restrictions. You can also add the clean version from Apple Music to your library.

Photos, by connecting to iCloud, means you can have one synced photos library across all your devices, such as here on our iPad.As we mentioned, by default Photos saves its library in your Pictures folder, which is in your user folder like we did.If you want to know exactly where your library is, you can open Photos and then “Preferences” (“Command +,”), and the “General” tab will show you the location, which you can then open in Finder. We want to move it back to our user folder so Dropbox stops constantly updating. To move our Photos Library, we drag it to its new location, double-click it, and the Photos app will now point to it.So, that was pretty easy. We’ll next show you how to create a completely new System Photo Library. We don’t need to have our Photos library on our Dropbox, however, because Photos is hooked into iCloud, so it is automatically backed up and synced to any other devices (iPad, iPhone, other Macs) logged into that iCloud account. Upload photos library from mac to onedrive. On our system, we see our Photo Library is in our Dropbox, but yours will almost likely show up in your user folder. We click the the “Show in Finder” button and here’s where our “Photos Library” is located.

If you can't find or play a song
If you can't find or play a song, check if you added it from Apple Music. If it came from another source, the song might be waiting to upload. Try these steps:
- Turn on your Mac or PC and connect it to the Internet.
- Open the Music app or iTunes for Windows.
- Keep the Music app or iTunes for Windows open so your library can finish uploading.
If you see an ineligible icon next to a song, delete the song, then add it back to your library. If you still see an ineligible icon next to a song, then that song can’t be uploaded.

By default, the photos and videos you import into Photos are stored in the Photos library in the Pictures folder on your Mac. When you first use Photos, you create a new library. If a song is missing
Make sure that all of your devices have Sync Library turned on, and signed in with the same Apple ID.
If you’re still missing a song that you added from the Apple Music catalog, then the song might have been removed from Apple Music or is available under a different file name. Try searching Apple Music for the song, then add it to your library.
